Snabba Cash is back! Check out some new players in season two of the Swedish drama coming to Netflix this week

If you haven’t seen Snabba Cash season one yet, (and we are referring to the modernised Netflix series rather than the Joel Kinnaman trilogy), then you are not only missing out but you also must stop reading any further as this article covers some potential spoilers.

Snabba Cash season one was one of our favourite series from 2021. It has perhaps one of the coolest opening credit sequences, theme song, and pretty much everything else – it is the whole package and we are big fans.

Season two is finally here on Netflix and we got to preview it ahead of its release and oh boy are you in for a wild ride! Here’s a bit about the characters – old and new – to get you excited about the return of this Swedish gang drama.

Some new faces and old favourites make a return

The excellent Ardalan Esmaili (Snow Angels) is a new face in this season, playing school teacher Jamal. Recently single and struggling with operations at the school he works at, where budgets cuts are preferred over helping the students, Jamal is left to reach out for help. It just so happens the school is Leya’s old elementary school where her son goes, and he seems to have a bit of a thing for her.

Another new face on the scene is Zaki (played by newcomer Adam Kai). Zaki is fresh out of prison and causing Ravy some problems as a new competitor on the streets. He also happens to be a complete psychopath who no one really wants to be on his naughty list. The biggest question is who is more dangerous Zaki or Ravy?

Speaking of Ravy – he’s back but we find him at his wits end. By the end of the first episode he’s already up against it with the police after him, a new drug dealer in town who wants him dead, and his crew – and new baby mama – losing interest in him. One thing going right for Ravy is that wardrobe, always looking fly despite the shit-storm he finds himself in.

The start-up genius madman that is Tomas Storm is having a few problems of his own when it turns out that the FCA are taking a look into his company, which sends him over the edge. Could this spell the end of Leya’s hopes and dreams?

Nala continues to be loyal to Ravy but both her and other sidekick Osman begin to question whether it is all worth it with so much chaos around them. Will they consider stepping away from it all and, more importantly, will Ravy even let them?!

And talking of shit-storms, our leading lady Leya finds herself in an ever-increasing whirlwind of bad luck and poor choices. If you felt that Leya was up against it in season one then wait until you see what mess she gets herself into in season two!

There are plenty of other faces, old and new, in this excellent second season. And if you haven’t seen any of it yet, or can’t remember too much of what happened in season one, then you can catch up on season one on Netflix now and then go straight into these new episodes! Yalla!

Snabba Cash Season 2 comes to Netflix on the 22nd September 2022.
