February is going to be keeping everyone busy with some very exciting new releases coming – here are the Nordic releases coming in February.

Reindeer Mafia | Walter Presents/Channel 4 | 11th February

With The Lost and Arctic Circle Season 2 already released over on Channel 4’s Walter Presents you will get an extra dose of new Nordic televisions to get stuck into with the release of Reindeer Mafia.

We have been really excited about this series and haven’t even had a chance to preview it yet but have heard very good things about it and really can’t wait to get dropped into this Finnish landscape and story of a family mafia saga.

The Promised Land | Cinemas | 16th February

The Promised Land scooped up two awards at the recent Gothenburg Film Festival and also did a very good job at almost winning everything film related at the the Robert Awards. That it has been totally overlooked by BAFTA and the Academy Awards is quite a shock, was it is released in time? Awards aside – this movie is bloody fantastic – boasting a serious fantastic cast and a wicked story of a famer (Mad Mikkelsen) going up against a ruthless King

The Abyss | Netflix (Worldwide) | 16th February

Not to be mistaken with James Cameron’s underwater feature from the 90s this is a Swedish disaster movie (and a first for them too) which sees the city of Kiruna undergo some serious difficulties when it is bombarded by a series of earthquakes.

The film has some big names in it and we are really excited to see how this one plays out – especially when we know it so well as a tourist destination in the Winter where everyone heads to Abisko or the Ice Hotel.
