Who Are The Barracuda Queens?

In the fun Netflix series, the Barracuda Queens are a group of girls from a fancy part of Sweden who begin robbing people’s houses and leaving glasses of champagne around a bottle as their trademark – the series was ‘loosely’ based on a true story of this happening. The big difference? We found out the truth in an interview with some of the cast in back in 2023 where actress Sarah Gustafasson revealed: “The big thing is that it was actually boys who did this in real life, so here the roles are reversed, with the added drama of what is going on in the characters’ lives.

Describing the girls’ lives, the actress states: “They all seem to have lost touch with reality because they have grown up in such a posh area in Stockholm with their wealthy families, so their view on the world is not totally normal.”

Always clutching a glass of wine, shot, or glass of champagne, this gang of girls embark on a series of robberies which leads them into some seriously deep water in the first season, only for them to return to even deeper water and bigger crimes in the second season.

Barracuda Queens Season Two– Our Review

The second season of Barracuda Queens delivers exactly what you’d expect from the previous season, and with just six 30-minute episodes, we won’t give too much away. The 90s soundtrack is once again a lot of fun, featuring many classics used throughout, perfectly complementing the show’s brisk pace.

The addition of Filip Berg (from Netflix’s Trouble) and the return of Philip Oros as the dodgy Linus, along with the always reliable and brilliant Joel Spira, are great additions to the cast. But enough about the boys – this show is all about the girls! Barracuda Queens strikes a perfect balance of bubbly fun and comedy capers. The cast truly has fantastic chemistry and are clearly enjoying being part of this story.

If you enjoyed the previous season, you know exactly what you’re getting into with the second: a fun, bingeworthy series that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s the perfect show to switch off and have fun with, thanks to the brilliant cast and their undeniable chemistry.

Will there be a Third Season of Barracuda Queens?

As for a third season of the series, nothing has been announced yet, but we certainly would love to see where the story can go next with all of these characters and will definitely welcome the return of the Barracuda Queens.
